Tour to Seven Falls, Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs - Seven Falls
As the name suggests, the Seven Falls is a spectacular series of seven separate waterfalls cascading down from a height of 181 feet. A scenic natural creation, the Seven Falls is encased by the 1 mile South Cheyenne Canyon, at a distance of just 10 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs.

History
Though the history of Seven Falls dates back to the 1800’s, it was not until 1882 when James Hull a naturalist & businessman bought the land around the falls. Hull’s realization of the potential of the area as a major tourist spot inspired him to construct a road to the falls through the canyon & build a stairway along the side of the Seven Falls.

Attractions
Today Seven Falls stands as one of the most prominent tourist attractions of Colorado Springs. While at one time the Falls could be accessed only through carriages or saddle horses, today you may either climb up the 224 step staircase or ride an elevator to Eagles Nest observation platform for a birds eye panoramic view of the city below.
At the head of the Falls are two hiking trails open only from mid-March to mid-October. The more popular of the two is the one mile trail leading up to Inspiration Point. The other less popular trail is half mile long & leads towards the beautiful Midnight Falls.

Being home to the most unusual birds like songbirds, the Canyon is a special place for bird lovers. Besides, endless trout can be spotted in the pool that forms below the Seven Falls.

Hotels
A trip to the Seven Falls would be incomplete without a stay at the luxurious The Broadmoor Hotel & Resort  located in the shadow of Cheyenne Mountain. With world-class amenities, Broadmoor Hotel is the best recline after an adventurous day at the Seven Falls.
